DeFi Land Farmer’s Hall Report #1: Play and Earn on the Horizon

Life is moving fast for us as we prepare our biggest patch update of the year. That’s right: Play and Earn is on its way and we couldn’t be more excited about it! As promised, we are working nonstop to deliver Gen-0 NFT functionality in DeFi Land as soon as possible. Keep an eye out for visual sneak peeks of some of our new features over the next two weeks. Even as our focus is set on these updates, this was still a week for the books. Let’s put a spotlight on the biggest news from the week in our brand new weekly town hall report.

The Bright Road Ahead

Pepe suggests checking out our updated roadmap for 2022

On Tuesday, we revealed an updated roadmap for the remainder of 2022. This roadmap is a proud representation of our progress and our high ambitions for the future of DeFi Land. You’ll notice that we are going to kick Q2 off with the Play and Earn beta, along with exciting features like LP staking, $DFL governance, and NFT crafting + upgrades. Further in the year, we will increase our outreach by bringing DeFi Land to mobile and desktop, integrating bridges to other chains, and creating a global map for our public land sale. We aim to develop the most trusted onramp into DeFi for the masses.

Leaderboard Snapshot

We say this a lot but it can never be enough: we are grateful for each and every DeFi Lander who makes this community so strong. Today, we have the unique opportunity to celebrate our Public Beta Leaderboard finalists. It is unbelievable what some of our players were able to accomplish. Racking up hundreds of thousands of XP in three months was a task that required skill, discipline, and dedication. These players are not only insanely talented gamers, but they are also vital members of our community. To celebrate our private and public beta testers’ accomplishments, we will be distributing over 250 Gen-0 NFTs and $DFL prizes to our top beta testers (When Play and Earn starts). Special congratulations to our Top 10! There will be many more community competitions to come, including seasonal leaderboard competitions, team challenges, and PVP modes.

100K Unique Villages

This week, we breached 100K unique villages in DeFi Land immediately followed by 200M $DFL staked. These are a huge milestones for us, but this is still just the beginning. As we release Play and Earn, unique PVP features, and education mode, we will look to onboard even more players and retain more daily active users. Can we reach 100K daily active users by the end of the year? Our team is doing everything in our power to make this dream a reality!

NFT Marketplace

We have completed our in-game NFT marketplace, which will give you the opportunity to sort your Gen-0 NFTs by their attributes, trade using $DFL, and manage your collection all inside of DeFi Land. Each NFT will display with a beautiful border that correlates with its rank, making them even more exciting to collect and use in your village. We believe our new marketplace will provide some fuel to the DeFi Land economy by offering yet another use-case for the $DFL token. Your security is a top priority and we are now in the phase of reviewing third party audits for our marketplace. We will release the marketplace once we are confident that your NFTs and tokens will be secure on our platform. And speaking of marketplaces…

Our NFTs Set Sail

We’ve enjoyed watching our community fall in love with their NFTs. We’ve seen loyal fishermen seek out the finest finishing rods, pet lovers collecting epic friends for their farms, and collectors stuffing their bags with over 150 NFTs. In addition to our secondary marketplace partners and in-game marketplace, we are always searching for more ways to shine light on our project. We are excited to say we have something special brewing for increasing the distribution of our NFTs, so keep an eye out for an official announcement of what this might be!
