DeFi Land is Going Mobile
Dear DeFi Landers,
It’s time we finally put an end to the mystery of GM once and for all. In the last two weeks, we saw many interesting ideas: good morning, goldy markets, great minds, general manager, or game modes. And yes, “game modes” was a great guess after the arrival of our new update. However, we have something even more exciting to announce today.
GM means that DeFi Land is Going Mobile! We are proud to report that we have completed our 3D visual assets and broken ground on DeFi Land mobile gameplay. In other words, DeFi Land mobile is real, it’s happening, and it’s going to be amazing. Today, we will preview our freshest visual assets, discuss the mission of the game, and explain how DeFi Land mobile fits into the future of our ecosystem.
Introducing DeFi Land Mobile
We are incredibly proud of our browser-based game and it will continue to be the heart of the DeFi Land ecosystem. However, we believe a mobile game is our best ticket to reaching the masses. DeFi Land mobile will allow players to access all our features across many more devices with a far lower threshold for technical specifications. Giving players access to smooth gameplay wherever they go is an enormous step toward our mission of being the premier onboarding experience in web3.
The mobile game will offer a fresh start, with a unique leaderboard and all new assets. We are building a new mobile wallet that will allow you to harvest and spend your rewards. We’ve learned from our web game that players need a journey and the game needs a mission. We are designing our mobile game with this idea in mind. Unlike the web game, which gives you free access to all the houses and buildings from the start, the mobile game will begin in a very simple village. As you play, you will unlock new buildings and features over time. The core premise of the game is to build the farming utopia of your dreams. You can achieve this by unlocking all the buildings, competing with your community, and earning digital currencies to customize your village.
Amazing Gameplay, Simplified for Mobile
Your NFTs will have utility in both the web and mobile games. However, we decided to redesign the game mechanics for mobile to provide the best experience possible. For example, the fishing game will capitalize on touchscreen phones with more interactive gestures. The shooting game will be difficult to replicate on mobile, so we plan to modify the gameplay to be similar to a “tower defense” style game. In the end, you will be getting the best of both worlds. You can battle with Hard Mode shooting targets while you’re on your desktop, and relax with mobile gameplay in the break-room at work.
We are also looking forward to the prospect of bringing smooth gameplay to more people. A web-based game is limited by your hardware, operating system, and browser. In addition to reaching a wider audience, our transition to mobile will allow many of our current players to enjoy the game lag-free for the first time.
DeFi Land x Solana Saga Phone
An additional surprise and amazing news is that DeFi Land will be one of the first apps on Solana Saga phone. Users will be able to enjoy the super smooth OS native experience while interacting with the blockchain transactions and NFT trading. More details will be coming in Q4.
