Unveiling the Lore of DeFi Land
It all started in the eye of a hurricane. Our great friend, Vibhu, and his extraordinary team had a vision of bringing the digital web3 world to physical retail stores through Solana Spaces. DeFi Land was a launch partner for Solana Spaces in the heart of Miami’s art district. It was all ready to go: physical merch, learn-to-earn tutorials, and DeFi Land demos. The only things standing in our way were the two storms on the horizon.
The first storm, a literal hurricane, battered Miami on the forecasted launch day of Solana Spaces. Still, we persevered and were able to onboard hundreds of visitors to the store. Just weeks later, the second storm hit as FTX collapsed and cast a devasting blow to Solana Spaces, DeFi Land, and frankly the entire Solana ecosystem.
But this is the community that chews glass, weathers any storm, and rises from the ashes of any insurmountable challenge. In the eye of this storm, we paved a path forward, and these challenges created the foundation for the collaboration we are announcing today.
Vibhu pivoted from Solana Spaces to found the most successful digital creator platform on Solana: DRiP Haus. This platform is known for its free NFT distribution system, but it is so much more. DRiP is one of the premier onboarding and outreach ecosystems, serving veteran collectors, brand-new crypto users seeking the excitement of building their first NFT collections, and artists who are looking to gain exposure for their digital art. They are building a community of curators and connoisseurs and we are proud to bring our innovative game and storytelling ecosystem to DRiP. Through this collaboration, we will finally be releasing the Lore of DeFi Land (and more!) to over 50K active subscribers.
DeFi Land Lore
The Lore of DeFi Land is an enchanting and adventurous legend of the challenges we overcame to reach where we are today. Beginning in the eye of a great storm, our protagonist has one mission: save his crew and pray that salvation will await on the shores of a distant land. Immersed in this story are metaphors of the blockchain, decentralization, and a pursuit of a world in harmony. Our in-house artist and creative team built this story into scrolls of comics, soon to be released exclusive to Drip Subscribers. We’re going to have quite a bit of fun with this, and here are a few hints to what is coming:
- DRiP will release weekly excerpts from the lore with unique rarity tiers. Each drop will be a small part of the story.
- Work as a community to piece the lore together and reveal the legend of DeFi Land.
- Because each drop is an NFT, serious connoisseurs can collect every panel of the lore.
- We have special plans for the most dedicated collectors 🤫
The lore represents a special dimension of DeFi Land. While we are building fun and family-friendly games, like Alpaca Dash and DeFi Land Mobile, we are also on a mission. By onboarding the masses to the blockchain, we want to represent the values of a better world. The legend of DeFi Land tells this story.
DRiP Utility Drops
As a DRiP creator, we look forward to introducing thousands of new users to DeFi Land. Future drops will have redeemable in-game utility that will allow our subscribers to test our suite of games. Here are just a few examples of possible DRiP Utility Drops:
- Alpaca Demo Drops: Single-use Alpaca NFTs that can allow DRiP subscribers to demo Alpaca Dash without an investment in an Almighty Alpaca
- Skill Drops: Exclusive skills that can be used in Alpaca Dash
- Credit Drops: Single-Use access to DeFi Land games, like a free coin flip or forge.
